KAYAKING
I made this image in September 2010 on a kayak trip in the lake Vansjø, Norway. The image is a self-portrait. How can you create an image like this? I attached the tripod with tape in front of the kayak. I used a Canon 16-35mm lens on my Canon EOS 5D camera. The camera settings were; ISO 200, f/9, 1/15 second. But how did I trigger the camera release button? First, I set the camera in 10 seconds self-timer mode. To trigger the release button I used a remote release. I kept it inside a watertight plastic bag, and I could push the release button from my position in the kayak. I love the light on this quiet and clear autumn evening. I have explored the lake Vansjø since I was a young boy, and I have also published a book about it. The title of the book is: “Vansjø – en unik naturperle”.
